“In this photo are Ralia, Beulah and Jacqueline (my mother), three daughters of another street photographer by the name of Harry Cowan. Harry, just like Arthur Fields, was Jewish and of Russian
origin. Harry arrived in Dublin when he was three and went on to study with the court photographer in London before establishing Harry Cowan Photography Studios in Dublin. Harry took both studio and street photographs, including this one. At the time, there were plenty of street photographers and I imagine Harry would have known Arthur quite well. The woman in the photo is the children’s nanny.'”
