“Vincent Penrose and Joan Burke (ages 15 & 16).
Joan Burke got on the number 42 bus at seamount in Malahide and sat upstairs in the front seat. Vincent Penrose got on the same bus at Balgriffin (opposite Campions Pub).
They were going into town to see Joan’s brother (Robbie) who was in the children’s hospital in Harcourt street (now closed).
Joan’s other brother, (Christopher) is also in the photo (over Joan’s shoulder with white shirt and hands in his pockets). Vincent and Joan subsequently married in 1973 and went on to have 3 sons.
Joan passed away in 2001.”
