“We were all school friends from Ballyfermot. (L–r): Anne O’Neill, Barbara Taaffe, Mary Farrell, me, Yvonne Whelan, Bernadette Buckley and Ann Buckley beginning the CRC (Central Remedial Clinic) walk on Abbey Street, sponsored by the Evening Herald. The walk went to Baldoyle racecourse where there was a free concert. A local Ballyfermot hearththrob boy-band, the Bye-Laws, were playing as part of the line-up that day.”
