“John (Dessie) Higgins, who worked for CIÉ in the mailyard. CIÉ were contracted to collect and deliver the mail to the mailboat in Dun Laoghaire and to the country trains. The wagon behind him was used to carry the mail. He never liked having to wear a uniform so he was definitely working when the picture was taken.”
