“Left to right: Annie O’Connor (née Doyle), John Doyle, Jane Doyle (née Murphy), Nuala Leech (née Doyle), Colm Leech and Brendan O’Connor. They are all relations, and Nuala and Colm were my parents. They were attending a post office dinner dance in the Metropole around 1961. One of them worked in the post office and they’d go to this dance regularly. I love old photographs of them; they were a very close family and socialised together. Seeing them when they were younger, and the style of their clothes, captures memories of a different time.”
