“Myself, George O’Reilly and Bing Crosby, yes that Bing Crosby. I was a showband manager, record-shop owner and manager of the Crystal Ballroom. I was also a long-time friend of Bing. Our friendship started when I decided to write a few fan letters to Bing, having obtained an address through my record store contacts. Bing got back and over the years, we struck up a great relationship. He was a big fan of Ireland and when he visited I would be his contact in Ireland. This is me and Bing on Henry Street.”
