“George Anthony Rickard (1930–2009) of Howth, County Dublin, who was home on leave in 1956 from the US Army. At the time he was stationed at Flak-Kaserne, Ludwigsburg, and likely a part of the 4th Transportation Battalion. The picture was unsolicited, but it is a cherished family photo, and the only picture of my father in his full US Army uniform. My father served in the US Army from May 1955 to May 1957.”
