“The gentleman with the hat on in this picture is Sean Rua Beaglach (John Small). He was from Angliham, Galway and was the brother of my husband’s great grandfather Tomas Rua Beaglach (Thomas Small). Sean Rua was up in Dublin for the day with his friends when this picture was taken. He was a well known seanchai in Galway and was up at the Abbey Theatre for a competion. I was given this photo by two of his grandchildren Padraig Small (Angliham) and Mary Small Gardiner (Massachusetts)”
