“My grandfather William J Coyne was working as a psychiatrist in Chiswick, London at that time. He trained at Bedlam. They came home for good two years later, residing in Mountjoy prison! Pop was later Governor of the Central Mental Hospital in Dundrum. Little Maurine died in 1976, Pop died in the 1980s and Granny in the 1990s. It must have been one of Arthur’s very earliest pictures. 1932.”
