“Taken around 1947 of the Dunne family with my father, Patrick, holding a bag of the famous Hafner’s sausages and black and white pudding on his way home from work. My mother, Alice, is carrying all the bags as we were coming back from our holiday in Skerries and we had just met up with him on O’Connell Bridge. My sister, Colette, is on the left and I’m holding my father’s hand. My mother is shying away from the camera as she hated having her photo taken so it’s a rare picture of us all taken together. I’m hoping he relieved her of the bags after the picture was taken, but I can’t remember.”
