“It was the morning of Monday 7 September 1953 and my dad, Billy Delaney and I, from Roscrea, County Tipperary, were in Dublin for the Cork–Galway All-Ireland final the previous day. My dad was bringing me on a tour around the city which would include a visit to Woolworths toy store and an ice cream parlour, which is why I look so happy! When I look at this picture it brings back the distinctive smells and sounds of the city at that time, which are so different from today. Every time I walk past this spot it brings back this wonderful memory. On occasion I cross the bridge just to remember.'”
