“My dad, Camillus Murray, cycling home from work. He was a painter and decorator and is sixteen years old in this photograph. He was born and reared in Myra’s House on Francis Street. His father was very involved in the Saint Vincent De Paul and Legion of Mary and was one of the organisers who set up St Camillus’s Monastery in Westmeath, hence my dad’s name. After mass on a Sunday afternoon, we’d day-trip the length and breath of the country.”
