“My dad, Sylvester Atkinson, and myself. My Dad was employed with the Dublin Corporation (Marrowbone Lane) at the time and spent some years as a lamp lighter before becoming a lifebuoy attendant, cycling around Dublin’s River Liffey to fix and replace Lifebuoys. He used to bring me into town on Sundays, and this was taken around 1965. I’m wearing my school cap from St James CBS, Basin Lane, and that’s a toy gun in my hand.”
