“The woman on the left is my grandmother, Eileen Murphy, aged 19. The man in the middle is my grandfather, Frank Brien, aged 34. The girl on the right is my grandmother’s younger sister, Anna Murphy, aged 14. This photo was taken in 1949 shortly before my grandparents’ marriage. The three of them were up in Dublin from Oylegate, Co. Wexford for the day. Frank and Eileen subsequently moved to Dublin, and Anna to Australia. This is one of the very few photos I have of my grandfather, who died in 1969 aged just 55. -Liz O’Brien”
