This photograph was taken on my First Holy Communion. My parents were taking care of their grandchild May whilst her mother and husband (Rose (nee Mc Auley) gernon and Paddy Gernon) were getting on their feet in Canada. Unfortunately no one in the family has heard from May in many decades.
My mother was widowed in 1965 and raised a young large family whilst working in Rowntree Mackintosh in Kilmainham. ”
