“The man in my picture is me father George A. Rickard (1930-2009). My father told me some man just came up out of the blue and took the picture of him after which he purchased it off him. I presume it must have been an instant photograph as the quality isn’t the best and by the sounds of things it seems the man was making a living by doing so. The picture was unsolicited but it is a cherished family photo the only picture of my father in his full U.S. Army uniform. Last year I made some inquiries from the local kiosk now on the spot where the photo was taken but was unable to obtain any details. The picture was almost certainly taken in the late Spring or early Summer of 1957, but might have also been taken in 1955 or 1956, though this is less likely. My father served in the U.S. Army from May 1955- May 57.”
