“I love this photograph of my parents, with the cobbled Dublin streets, the car, the buildings behind – a nice shot depicting the period. My mother looks so fresh-faced here in her beautiful coat. I know that she made all her own clothes at that time, and I remember this coat very clearly. It hung in the wardrobe all of my childhood. If you look closely you can see that my father has a cigarette in his hand. It is an unusual photograph in that regard as he smoked for only a very short period in his life.'”
