“Olive O’Donoghue (left) and her mother, Molly (née Curtis), both of Hollybrook Road, Clontarf, Dublin. The priest in the middle
is probably Father Hugh (Sonnie) or Father Tim O’Donoghue, cousin of Olive, from Killarney, County Kerry. Molly married Michael O’Donoghue in Dublin in 1914. He was one of the first Irish bookmakers and was always known as “Killarney” because of where he came from. Olive married John Sheridan in 1948. He was from Castlederg, County Tyrone; his brother, Joe, invented the Irish coffee while he was a chef in Foynes, Shannon. There is a plaque to his memory in Shannon Airport.”
