“This is our late father, James (Billy) Cosgrave on O’Connell Bridge long before we were even born. Our late mother, Margaret Cosgrave (née
Murphy) reckoned that he was in his early 20’s at the time, making this around 1955. It’s always been a favourite photo of ours and depicts a different era. It captures him perfectly yet is mysterious as we didn’t know him then. He had long since given up smoking and had also lost that wonderful hair!”
