“I lived in Limerick and was invited to Dublin for a summer holiday by this kind lady who was a friend of the family. My memory is that we were crossing the bridge on our way to the Zoo where I was terrified when I had to stand beside an elephant to have my photo taken. The chimps tea party was a big attraction then too. Times have changed.
I must have been in secondary school as I was wearing my gaberdine coat or perhaps I had recently inherited my sister’s cast off!
I remember taking the train to Killiney and to Bray from Blackrock where I was staying – it was a treat to be beside the sea. I live along that coast now.
Happy memories.”
