“My mother, Kathleen Rockett, from Butlerstown, Ballyneale, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary, (on the right) on a visit to Dublin in 1942 with her friend and neighbour, Peig Strappe. Mummy married Tom Gavin from Clonmel in 1947. Little did I realise that, in 1967 when Arthur photographed me and my future husband, Philip Meade, I was following in my mother’s footsteps.”
