“My Mum & Dad (Arthur Power and Betty Power nee Kennedy) – there is an earlier photo of them on a date which I think was one of their first dates. In this one they look more at ease with one another so I’m guessing it was the Autumn of 1953. They married in January 1954. Dad was around 22 and mum was 18. They had 5 children and dad passed away in March 1986. Mum is still going strong and will be 80 this coming May. They gave us such wonderful childhood memories which are a joy to look back on.”
