“My aunt Maura Murphy.Originally from Cork Maura moved to Dublin aged 18 and worked in the Civil Service. She loved dogs and is pictured with Pudsy. Also a great card player and regular winner at Whist. The cigarette between her fingers was a constant and her large handbag invariably contained several packs of cigarettes and a pack of cards. She knitted superb Aran pattern sweaters for her many nieces and nephews usually with the telltale aroma of tobacco.”
