“Maureen (nee Duffy, Plunkett O’Boyle Terrace, Lwr. Main St. Letterkenny) and Jim Sweeney (Letterkenny). This photo was taken on their wedding day on 26/3/1951 as they arrived in Dublin. Maureen said they paid 2/6 for the photo (a half crown). The photograph was then posted out some weeks later to Donegal. When Jim handed over the half crown he quipped that he would never see that photo! Thankfully it arrived safe and sound. They are still going strong in Letterkenny, today.”
