“Our dad, Séamus O’Maonaigh of Ballybough/Harold’s Cross, and three sons, (left to right) Cartha, Conleth and Ciaran, on O’Connell Bridge in maybe autumn 1955 or early spring 1956. Cartha and I are wearing blazers with our initials embroidered by our mam (Síle). Long before the term ‘new man’ was coined, Dad was always happy and proud to wheel the pram or take the kiddies (eventually seven) out and about.”
