“The photo is of my parents Anne Donoghue and Thomas Quine. It literally catches a significant moment in their lives, as Tommy had just returned that day from London, where he had worked for a time during Britain’s post-second World War reconstruction. Our family have always thought the photo has an almost Film Noir-like quality to it. Arthur took this photo near Cleary’s in 1948. Tommy is from Glinsk county Galway, Anne was from Derrinturn county Kildare. They married in 1956. Sadly, Anne passed away in 2000; as of July 2018, Tommy is still with us, 91 years young. Thank you Arthur Fields for catching this moment in time.”
